Mr. Rain Laane

    Chairman of the Management Board, Estonian Health Insurance Fund

    Rain Laane (born 1971, Estonia) graduated 1994 from Tallinn Technical University (today TalTech) as civil engineer and achieved his MBA 2003 from Estonian Business School. He started he’s professional career during high school as programmer 1988 in Small Enterprise “Kompuuter”. After selling few years American personal computers he joined IBM in 1997 and moved in 2005 to another US big IT corporation Microsoft, where he served 12 years as General Manager Estonia and General Manager Baltics. 2017 he was elected to lead Estonian Health Insurance Fund, which is the mutual health insurance provider (public one) in Estonia with annual budget about 2.4 B€.

    He has two passions – people and technology. This is a good combination, which helps keeping Estonia on e-innovation track also in Health sector.
